When it comes to accelerate the development of our new products and the time to market, the validation of a project can be subjected to strong pressure. With a product’s prototype or a component’s prototype, our designers can finally transform their project from a screen into reality.
The price is adaptable? Will the prototype work as planned? A 3D printed part can be injection moulded?
The mapping pressure of specific characteristics or design elements on prototypes can cause to lose focus on the final product. Our designers are intelligent and their team always act with foresight.
After the prototyping phase and the product’s design process, we always keep a close eye on time, we never lose sight of what the final product is and its performance characteristics. This is because we rely on tested and certified tests.
Our goal is to produce prototypes which are not only the physical representation of a project, but that pave the way to the final production and provide precious information on performance characteristics and on the product’s conformity.
Prototyping is a fundamental investment for research and development teams and, when possible, our designers use more and more fast prototyping methods to shorten developing times and reduce risks. To do as such we use technologies such as 3D printers and CNC processing.
Based on the product and the project’s requirements, the quantity of products can vary, from iteration prototypes to many hundreds or thousands of pieces. However, when initial conceptual prototypes are created using CNC processing only 1 to 5 pieces are used, while, 3D printing requires hundreds of pieces for injection moulding.
Nevertheless, we need to avoid categorizing these kinds of technologies by reducing them to just prototyping. If only few pieces or production components are necessary, 3D printing, CNC processing and injection moulding are also common methods to produce pieces ready to be sold and used.
